ARGELÈS-SUR-MER, NATURE DESINATION
Just 35 km from the La Presqu’île campsite, at the foot of the Albera Massif, Argelès-sur-Mer is full of treasures: a seaside resort with a long beach, rocky coastline, pine woods, marina, nature reserves, typical village… It’s a joy to walk through its colourful streets. On foot, by boat or in the water, Argelès-sur-Mer, known as “La Naturelle”, will delight you with its undeniable assets!
THE BEST BEACHES OF THE PYRÉNÉES-ORIENTALES
If you prefer a quieter and more relaxed holiday, no worries! The coastline has something to please everyone. No less than 40 km of long fine sandy beaches and 20 km of rocky, sandy or pebbly coves with undeniable charm, are available for you to spend the day doing as little as possible. For the slightly more active, the area’s beaches are great for a simple stroll with family or friends. This is the opportunity to discover the unmissable nature reserves of Mas Larrieu in Argelès sur Mer, Cerbère-Balyuls, or a nature park such as the Parc des Dosses in Barcarès!

THE PYRÉNÉES ORIENTALES REGIONAL NATURE PARK
The Regional Nature Park of the Pyrénées-Orientales and its 11 natural resources will dazzle you with their beauty. You can also visit the wildlife parks and military fortifications designed by the famous military engineer Vauban, the Canigou, a listed French site, the hot springs in Saint-Thomas, the Dorres and Llo thermal baths and the marine nature reserve of Cerbère-Banyuls where you can go scuba diving.
SPAIN AND THE COSTA BRAVA
Just 1 hour from the campsite, the proximity of Spain means you can take a quick trip to the Costa Brava! Visit the beautiful natural parks (Cap de Creus, Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and Montgri) and amazing places like the Bay of Roses, the botanical gardens and the Lake of Banyoles. It is in the region’s big cities, like Barcelona that you will feel closest to Catalan culture, its great painters and customs. Stroll down La Rambla and enjoy some tapas on a café terrace then visit the beautiful Palau Güell.
VISIT THE AUDE
You can also take advantage of your holiday at La Presqu’île campsite to explore the Aude, the Cathar Country with its castles and abbeys, or take a wonderful walk along the cliffs at Leucate, only 8 km from the campsite! Take the opportunity to explore the city of Carcassonne and Roman Narbonne.
